Pride Month Stamps, Print Design

I chose this theme for the stamps as it is a subject that speaks to me. I thought it would be interesting to find out a bit more about the Queer history in Canada, which I found through my research is very rich. It is one that began long before Stonewall did. Moreover, the conversation about the beginnings of Pride often remains US-centric, even when it was approached during my years in school. I thought it would be proper to bring more awareness to this subject so I chose to develop this idea and present a set of 4 different activists who have had an impact on the pursuit of LGBT2Q+ acceptance and took a stand against the rampant harassment, discrimination, and violence facing the community.
